LifeScience Alley®, the largest state-based life sciences trade association in the U.S., has a 29-year track record of enabling business success for its members through educating workforces, providing leadership on developing good state and federal public policy, supporting advancement in research and technological innovation and fostering industry connections. The Association’s membership employs approximately 250,000 Minnesotans, and its reach extends throughout the Midwest and Canada. Through a strategic affiliation, LifeScience Alley partners with The BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota to strengthen the regional economy by assisting in the growth of established and emerging industries, and attracting new companies, talent and capital. As a whole, LifeScience Alley and its subsidiaries work together to accomplish a shared mission and vision.

About Minnesota Angel Network

Minnesota Angel Network (MNAN) is a unique educational program for entrepreneurial companies seeking to raise investment capital and an online connection for accredited investors interested in investing MNAN-certified companies. For entrepreneurial high-tech and knowledge-based companies, MNAN provides education on fundraising that is customized to the company’s needs. For investors in search of high-quality investment opportunities, MNAN provides access to entrepreneurial companies certified to have MNAN’s standards for quality and excellence. MNAN is designed as the first stop to support entrepreneurs at emerging companies to become more effective in seeking investments, and to support investors looking for more deal flow. The program looks to enrich Minnesota's entrepreneurial ecosystem in three key ways:

  • Educate—entrepreneurs at emerging companies with a customized curriculum provided pro-bono by some of the state’s most prominent practicing industry advisors;
  • Connect—emerging companies that have met the Minnesota Angel Network standards of quality and excellence with accredited investors;
  • Catalyze—the growth of entrepreneurship throughout Minnesota.

Medical Device Innovation Consortium

The MDIC is the first ever public-private partnership (PPP) created with the sole objective of advancing medical device regulatory science. The intent is to be a national 501c(3) organization that operates in partnership with the FDA. The MDIC, which has been incubated by LifeScience Alley in direct partnership with CDRH.
